The quirks of OCR software

I recently started using OCR software for digitizing handwritten records, and it’s been a mixed bag. Some documents come through perfectly, while others have errors that are almost comical. I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this, and what strategies you use to clean up those mistakes efficiently?

It’s wild how some handwriting confuses OCR so much! I’ve found simple spell-checking after the initial scan saves time. What errors do you see most often?

I’ve noticed that common issues often arise with cursive scripts — i’ll run the output through a basic text editor for quick fixes. What software are you using? :desktop_computer:.

I can relate! Handwriting quirks often trip it up. Have you tried using multiple OCR tools?
